Brian P. Brady, AIA has spent 45 years as a practicing architect, including eight years as a tenured professor. For over a decade, he has been a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Neutrals for Construction Disputes. For over 20 years he was a partner in a 180-person A/E firm. He has experience in all forms of construction delivery, including Design / Build, Construction Management and traditional Design / Bid.

In addition to his professional role as architect, his experience includes contracting and directing architects as owner (Board member / liaison for private schools), and Chairing City of Buffalo Historic Preservation Board. Major areas of practice, approximate number of projects, and composition of assignments include:

  • Single family residences (25).

  • Hospitals and Health Care facilities (20), including patient rooms, ICU's, administrative suites, and procedure rooms.

  • Corporate and Manufacturing facilities (15), including laboratories, clean rooms, electronic assembly, warehousing, distribution, executive offices, headquarters buildings, spec offices and leasehold improvements.

  • College and University facilities (150), including natatoriums, historic renovations, culinary arts, student services, service centers, dormitories, life safety improvements, computer labs, classrooms.

  • Municipal facilities (20), including town halls, courtrooms, municipal centers, waste water treatment labs, park facilities, senior centers, youth centers, prison improvements, historic preservation and public works facilities.

  • Public School Districts (18), including classrooms, administrative suites, pools, gymnasiums, athletic fields, tracks, performance spaces, music suites and cafeterias.

    Within most of these project sectors, assignments have included new construction and renovation. Projects have included virtually all elements of building systems and components: numerous roof replacements, boiler replacements, lighting retrofits, window replacements, ADA renovations and masonry restorations.

    Clients have included Motorola, GE Capital, Zippo, Praxair, SUNY Fredonia, Buffalo State, UB, ECC, NCCC, Buffalo Public Schools, Rochester Public Schools, Ken Ton Schools, Williamsville Schools, Kaleida, Catholic Health Systems City of Buffalo and numerous towns and villages.

    Significant experience in all construction delivery models: traditional design/bid/build; construction management; Wick's Law (four prime) and design build. Projects generally range from $25K to $32M.
